I went to the game a little bit worried tonight... Not that I was worried about the Ducks coming out and not playing hard enough- but more worried about a Red Wings team that has their team together. As much as I hate watching the Wings win, they are amazing to watch on the ice. Constant speed, crisp passing, and throwing everything at the net, at every opportunity. I thought they played well tonight. The penalties were at a minimum, Jiggy was on his game, and the top line was scoring.
There was one thing I did notice.... THE REFS WERE SUCKING HARDER THAN MOST NIGHTS AT THE PONDA CENTER!
I should've brought a pen with me so I could write down all of the "no calls" from tonights game. For example, that last Wings goal scored... If that were our goal, and Pronger and Perry were standing in the blue paint, and either one of them took a swing at that puck when that puck went in- I PROMISE you, it would've been "NO GOAL!"
The tripping call on Sammy in the last 6 minutes of the game was complete and total B.S.
I saw at least 5 interference no calls thru-out the game.
At least a couple of holding calls, and a tripping call on Bobby and Kunitz.
Why does this consistently happen to the Ducks? Are we a marked team? Is there some crazy conspiracy to keep the Ducks out of the playoffs? I don't get it. I'm frustrated watching it. I can't imagine playing on the team and seeing this game after game. Especially because the guys are doing their jobs well. (as of late)
