KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Cowboys were called for a season-high 13 penalties for 90 yards on Sunday, including five citations for offsides.
"We hadn't had any this season and several of them [the referees] said we lined up offsides," coach Wade Phillips said. "So it's something we hadn't done, never done here, I have to look at the film and see. Maybe they were calling it close, and we were too tight."
Anthony Spencer, twice, DeMarcus Ware, Jay Ratliff and Igor Olshansky were called for offsides penalties.
Phillips said he couldn't remember Olshansky ever being called for an offsides penalty in his career.
